Suspension question

If my account is suspended due to me being unable to pay. If my roommate takes over and I cancel the services will she have to take over those payments? Or can I continue to pay while she pays the new service fees?

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello, @user_4g8xuo! Thank you for visiting the Xfinity Community Forum with your billing and account questions. I'm sorry to hear about the interruption due to non-payment, and I'd love to see what we can do to help! Our team is great to work with because we'll always provide you with as much information as you need to make the best, informed decision. And those are good questions!

In order to get an account changed over into someone else's name, the current account holder and the new account holder must both fill out the account change request form which can be found here, and then go into a local store together to provide the additional documentation as well as this form. Once these steps have been completed the change will occur! Though if you have more questions, check out our Account Change Request FAQs here.

And before you go that route, I highly recommend simply considering other options such as setting up a Payment Arrangement, or even looking into qualifying for an Installment Plan. These can be other ways to catch up on your balance without making a change to the account ownership. Plus, from what I'm reading, your balance will still be owed by the person taking over, so these would be the same options that we'd discuss with them when looking at restoring service once it's in their name.

Please let me know if this helps! And if we need to take a closer look at the account for any reason, we're happy to see what else can be done :)
