Student discount for existing customer

Hello, I currently use Xfinity wifi and I'm enrolled in a school eligible for a student discount. Can I still receive the student discount and change my existing internet plan? I've gone through the student ID verification process, but when I click on the links, the discounts are not applied. My current internet bill is scheduled to increase to $70 this month, which I can't afford.
