Stop the alert interruptions

We get 3 Comcast alerts a day!!  It messes up the DVR recordings that you charge extra for.   I’m sick of it!!  3 a day that says Weekly tests… please stop.  We have alerts on our phone if there is ever a real disaster.

@user_res3yw Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. Just to clarify, the alerts you are getting, are they the emergency broadcast alerts? Can you provide more information on them so we can better assist you?

We watch normal Xfinity channels and get the “weekly” alerts 3 times a day during the week.    They screen goes completely black and a few seconds later we get the tests .  We are tired of them.  It interrupts the DVR, it interrupts if we had paused a show as once it interrupts it goes to live TV.  This has been going on all summer when the kids were home during break.

I apologize that this has been interrupting your viewing, @user_res3yw. I understand the frustration with that, but we are required to test the system. I live in an area where I see multiple tests per week as well. They are each for a different area when I look at them but where my local broadcast stations reach. The same one is not being repeated multiple times. Are you seeing those for different areas/cities/regions around you when they come up or do they all seem to be the exact same?

it is out of control and interfering in DVR recordings and viewing saved watch later videos. It's every day at all times. Why can't you test during the overnight? There is no way anyone is requiring  you to test at this level, this frequency and at these inconvenient times. Ain't buying it.  There must be a way to do this without customer inconvenience when we are paying your outrageous exorbitant rates for service.

I know these tests can be frustrating @MaryD61, especially when they pop up at the most inopportune times. Unfortunately, Xfinity doesn't issue, control or alter the alert messages in any way. We merely pass through messages that federal, state, or local authorities choose to send to the public.
