Service disconnected no notice

Previously when I had missed a payment, I would get mail or an email with a disconnection date. I logged into my online account the other day to check my balance, and there was no indication that my service was in danger of being disconnected. Today I log in to pay the bill and find out that my service is being shut off today for non payment with no advanced warning! No email, no letter. Why has Comcast changed this policy?

This sounds like a very frustrating situation @shortshanon4077 . I am sorry for the headache this has caused you. This is certainly not the experience we want for our loyal customers. You should have received notification that the payment was missed. I would be happy to look over your account to determine why a notification was not sent out. Can you send us a private message with your full name, name of account holder (if different) and service address? To send a private message, please click the chat icon next to the bell in the upper right corner. Click the “notepad and pen” button. Send the full message to our shared support handle “Xfinity Support”. We look forward to hearing from you!

@user_5a6248 we apologize for the experience and would like to help if you are still having issues with your billing. Please include your full name and service address.

"Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3kajO4e
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
  •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
  •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

See https://comca.st/2XfS9FQ for an example.

(Full credit to @BruceW for this excellent explanation!)
