Sent to collections despite closing accounts

I am repeatedly receiving messages from Waypoint Resource Group stating I owe debt related to a Comcast account.

I at one point had TWO active addresses with xfinity. I closed both out and returned my equipment for both addresses. Despite closing them out and being assured of this, it took months to get xfinity to stop auto billing me due to one of the accounts being connected to an xfinity mobile plan.

how do I ensure this collections report doesn’t impact my credit?? I was assured each time I called that my account was finally fully closed out.

Hello @user_jd99a thank you for reaching out! usually once the account is closed you get a final billing statement about 30 days later that will explain any final amount owed. Do you remember getting those final billing statements?

Hi, I never received any final billing statement. Is there a way to confirm this amount?

Someone needs to get a class action going on Xfinity/Comcast. In June 2025 they turned me over to a collection company for an account that I closed (that had a credit balance). They got that "fixed" after many hours and letters later. Then this month (June 2026) they have turned that same account over to collections again, even though I have proof I owe them nothing and my new account is current. This goes beyond a clerical error.
