Scam 50% off bill VM

I received a voicemail requesting I call back to accept the 50% offer. Unfortunately I didn’t consider it was a scam until I’d given them my name, address, and average bill. I’m hoping this isn’t information that can be used to access any of my accounts. What should my next steps be?

If you have gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to:     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
The FTC also has a great webpage on Scams.  Please check it out as well.
For Target Gift Cards:
Call 1 (800) 544-2943 and follow Target’s instructions.
Keep a copy of the Target gift card or your store receipt.
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
Thanks!

I received the same message today (8/22/2025). I didn’t answer but called Xfinity Customer Service directly (800 number). After several tries, someone answered. When I told them that I wanted to report a possible scam voicemail, they asked for my information to look up the issue. Uh, no. I told them that I was simply reporting the issue and asked how I could “ignore” calls I hadn’t received. They then told me “Congratulations! You will receive the credit!” What? Credit or discount? “Congratulations! You’ll receive the discount!” “This month”. I know that’s not true since I just paid my bill. As has been typical of calling Xfinity, the person I spoke with sounded like they were in a very noisy call center. The bottom line, this happened at the official 1-800 number that I have had for some time for Comcast/Xfinity. It feels like this number was hijacked by the scammers. Just FYI.

Hello @user_8fqv0d We appreciate you wanting to reach out and report it. As user @Again mentioned above the FTC is aware of this scam, and you can report it at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ . To be on the safe side it's always best to call us directly if you aren't sure if something is a scam. But we also do not call proactively offering discounts or promotions because of scams like this.
