Ripoff - Signed up for the 300Mb $50/mo plan and the bill shows up as $85/mo.

I signed up for and received a receipt for the "300 Mbps Unlimited with WiFi equipment included for 24 months $50/mo For 24 months. No term contract. Taxes not included." The receipt said $50 but the online bill said $85. They had added several items including a Broadcast TV charge for $20+ per month. I called in and said all I needed was the internet and was fine with any of the $0.00/mo extras. They said we don't have such and offer, that plan is $65. I told them it was being offered online right now. They told me I was wrong. They would not even go look at it. I had to cancel the service and return all the hardware. A person at an Xfinity store said someone added all the extras and if I wanted to sign back up they would try to do it right. No guarantee they would not continue to try to add additional charges. The store rep thought it was $25 for something to cap from going over the plan. It is an unlimited plan. If that was the case I would go with the 1200Mbps plan wish would be cheaper. These business practices come across as very unethical. I have AT&T checking now to see if they can service the address. AT&T is $55/mo with a $200 gift card for signing up. I would like to know why Xfinity is doing this, I was fine with the $50 plus tax per month.

@XfinityTimothyA I have spent at least a few hours chatting with them. They tell me I am wrong and then I copy the text off the website and they say, oh yes that. They have no information, they don't know what is being advertised. They are not provided the information necessary to be of any assistance.

The question is why was I given a monthly charge of $85/mo when I signed up and received a receipt for $50/mo. Luckily I was able to shut it down prior to it ever getting working.

That is a great question on why the bill was going to be $85.00. We would need to have this go into a Private Message in order to discuss the account in detail. I do apologize for the frustration.

I no longer work for Comcast.
