Remove unused equipment charges

Of course I have to type this all again before they asked me to create an account. Xfinity is the most unreliable, price gouging , money-driven customer Non-supportive service I’ve ever had.

I’ve been a loyal customer using their Cable and WiFi since 2017 but that doesn’t matter. They continued to always raise my bill every couple of months — where I had one box and one modem to pay close to $300 solo- unless you call and talk to a rep for over an hour to lower your bill, got it down to $150 but eventually it was back up to $200+ 6 months later. They sent me a modem I didn’t need (the rep said well if you want you can and we’ll charge $10 extra /month) - I said I don’t need it so they said it’s fine then don’t use it. Little did I know this would bite me later.

I for all cut off my service before leaving DC moved to IL. I went to return all 3 equipment to Ashland Ave Chicago location- parked for approximately 2 minutes in the lot with Xfinity signage on the side of the building. The rep said there’s a 35 minute wait. I didn’t have that time, I walked out and a guy is standing by my car with a boot on my tire says I need to pay $150 for him to remove it. What?? For 2 minutes?

It was a nightmare to call Xfinity to get my WiFi connected too. It took 3 hours until I got a human vs AI on the phone to explain my situation. My leasing office said I should be able to activate it myself since the modem is there so I tried resetting, etc for 30 minutes but nothing. After finally getting a human 2 hours later & spending time trying to troubleshoot- in the end their solution is to send a tech— a week later! I work from home and need WiFi. Tech ends up taking 5 minutes by punching numbers in his phone. That’s it. I find later Xfinity charged $100 for that! The rep never explained that’d be the case until I got my bill to see it. My IL bill is paid and up to date.

I have returned all equipment and oust I received another bill with  a balance of $377.01 all for equipment? I had already took the cable away and just stuck to WiFi. Now this? When can I expect this charge to be removed? Especially for the equipment XFINITY sent me that I never needed or activated?

user_95luer. I completely understand why you’re frustrated. Between the billing increases, difficulty getting connected after your move, the unexpected technician charge, and now seeing a $377.01 equipment balance after returning your equipment, you’ve had to put far too much effort into getting these issues addressed. I’m sorry this has been your experience. We’d be happy to review the account, confirm the status of the returned equipment, and take a closer look at exactly what is making up that $377.01 balance so we can determine what needs to be addressed. Could you please send our team a Direct Message with your name and service address? Our team can take a further look at this issue.
