Refund

I am a college student and was using xfinity internet at my college apartment and before it was time to move out about two days before my xfinity bill was due I canceled my service. They charged me the full $56.39 instead of the prorated amount which should have just been $34.57. I called and chatted multiple times with xfinity agents and three of them told me I would get my full refund of $56.39 back  within 30 days of cancellation. A few days passed and I decided to call xfinity again to confirm my refund , this is when i was told I wasn’t owed anything. So i decided to go into an xfinity store and asked what that was about . The man told me that someone had claimed the $21.82 that was owed to me on my account a name I did not recognize at all and had no relation to. I was told to call xfinity again and let them know of what had happened . The lady who helped me gave me a case number and told me that they would help resolve my issue. Today I get a text saying my case was closed and no mention of what happened to my refund . I attempted to see my ticket and my account says there was no ticket . I want answers because no one is telling me what is going on and I am frustrated .

The concern is not "Home Security Rules And Automations" help related........... Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Good afternoon user_h6vlr9. I am happy to assist you further with this. We always want to ensure you are aware of what is being billed. When it comes to disconnections, there will always either be a prorated charge or prorated credit. It will depend on your billing cycle. At the top right of your statement whether viewing it in paper form or electronically the billing cycle is displayed.

It will also depend on when the last payment was made, and what cycle that covered. So if your last payment covered the prior cycle, there may be some dates on the current billing cycle for service rendered, where payment would be due. However, any dates after your official cancellation date you would not owe anything. When you look at your last couple statements or your account in the Xfinity App (even disconnected accounts, should display your last bit of billing activity) it should show what your cycle was, and when the last payment was before the final payment occurred. If you did end up paying a full final balance for service, any dates that your account was disconnected for will be refunded.

If you were using any Xfinity equipment has any equipment with the account been returned already? That would also hold the refund from generating. Also the refund would be generated in the account holder's name. We are unable to modify who the refund goes to. Please let me know if this helps. If you do need additional assistance, I am happy to help.
