"Prorate charges: +$65.15." What's that?

I just received my first bill from Xfinity. The total is nearly double the amount I was told it would be when I first signed up. One of the charges is: "Prorate charges: +$65.15." What's that?

Hi user_680d63, welcome to the Xfinity forums and welcome to the Xfinity family! I know prorated charges can be a bit confusing but don't worry I can expalin everything so that you're not in the dark about your bill.

With Xfinity we bill in advance, which is why you see a parial charge for the current month of service and a full charge for next month of the service. Once this bill passes your bill will go back to the agreed upon rate.

I had this same issue and they do not adjust anything- I just found out that the due date for their billing is 11 days before the billing period ends.  So if you have Auto Pay set up and that doesn’t go through, you are charged late fees plus NSF fees  Comcast has extremely unfair billing practices.  Frustrated many times
