Property Damage Claim & Account Cancellation
I am writing to formally report significant property damage caused by an Xfinity installation technician during a service visit to my residence on Saturday, September 19, 2026, and to give notice of immediate account cancellation.
Background:
I picked up my Xfinity router on September 13, 2026. From that day onward, I was unable to use the service because Xfinity could not establish a connection. A professional installation technician was dispatched on September 19, 2026, to resolve the connectivity issue. During this appointment, the technician failed to establish functional service and caused two distinct items of physical property damage:
Electrical / Lighting Damage (Attic & Closet Wiring):
After the technician reconnected wiring in the attic, the power to the closet lights failed completely. There are two separate light fixtures in the closet, both of which were functional prior to his work in the attic and both of which ceased operating immediately afterward. When alerted, the technician refused to address or inspect the issue, claiming it was merely a burned-out bulb—an explanation that is logically invalid given that two separate fixtures failed simultaneously following his direct manipulation of the wiring.
Window Frame & Screen Damage:
The technician improperly routed a cable directly through the window screen, tearing the mesh. As a result, the window cannot be closed completely, leaving a gap that permits insects and crawling pests to enter my home.
Account Cancellation & Billing Waiver Request:
Due to the complete lack of functional service since equipment pickup on September 13, 2026, combined with the property damage caused by your representative, I am requesting the immediate cancellation of my account and all associated services at zero charge to me.
No Early Termination Fees / Penalties: Because Xfinity failed to provide working service and caused property damage, no cancellation, unreturned equipment penalty, or early termination fees may be assessed.
Full Bill Clearance: I have already received a bill for services I was never able to use. I demand a full reversal/credit of all charges on my account, bringing the balance to $0.00.
Router Return Instructions: Please provide clear instructions or a pre-paid return label so I can return the unused router without incurring any fees.
Property Damage Settlement Requirements:
Open a Formal Damage Claim: Issue an official Property Damage Claim Ticket number and assign a claims representative (or third-party adjuster, such as Sedgwick) to handle this matter.
Reimbursement for Electrical Repairs: I am hiring a licensed electrician to inspect and repair the damaged closet wiring circuit. I expect full reimbursement from Xfinity for the total cost of this repair.
Reimbursement for Window Screen Repair / Replacement: I require full compensation for the cost to repair or replace the damaged window screen.
I have fully documented the situation with photographs and videos showing the torn screen, the cable obstruction, the gap in the window frame, the non-functioning closet light fixtures, and pest intrusion. These will be submitted directly to the assigned claims handler.
Please acknowledge receipt of this letter within 48 hours, confirm the cancellation of my account with a zero balance, and provide my damage claim tracking number.
Sincerely,
Alexey
