Pricing change for 1 Gig plan

I'm a student and have been using Xfinity for over a year at the same address. I had the 1 Gig student plan for $45/month and now it's become $100/month.

I was hoping you could check whether there are any student, loyalty, retention, or other promotions available for my account.

I’m also seeing an offer on my account for 2 Gig service for $70/month with a 1-year price guarantee, or $85/month for 5 years. It seems unusual that the 2 Gig plan is currently less expensive than my 1 Gig plan. Could you let me know what the best pricing available to me is for my current plan?

I'm staying in the US for another 2 years and it would be great to keep the same provider for that time.

Thank you!

This price increase is insane, and I can't anyone to confirm that my plan was actually changed to $65 / month for 5 years and that they are going to give me a credit for the ILLEGAL increase of $50/month that I was charged for September.

Thank you for reaching out to us @patcii! A $50 increase would definitely get my attention as well, especially when expecting a new promotional rate to be reflected on the account.

As a starting point, I recommend reviewing page 3 of a bill from a few months before the increase occurred. On this page, there should be green text explaining when the promotions on the account are set to expire. Comparing that date to when the bill increased is often the quickest way to determine whether the increase is related to a promotion ending.

It's also important to look at the “billing date” shown near the top of each page on each statement. The billing date is the date the statement was generated. If a service change or new promotion is added after a bill generates, the current statement will continue to show the original charges, and the changes will typically appear as prorated adjustments on the next billing cycle.

For example, if a bill for services from 9/1 through 9/30 generated on 8/20, and the account changed on 9/2, the adjustments for those changes will appear on the following statement that generates after the change occurred (10/1 through 10/31 when it generates on 10/20).

Additionally, the Xfinity app and website may continue to display the balance from the most recently generated statement, which can result in AutoPay processing that original billed amount before any future prorated adjustments are applied. If this happens, the next statement will have an adjustment for the prorated difference.

If you'd like us to review the specific billing timeline and account details, Please send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

 3. Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
 4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
 5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
 6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
 7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
 8. Press Enter to send it.
