Payment missapplied / Chat agent contracdictions - Need payment research ticket
Hi,
I am stuck in a billing loop and need some help. Xfinity's system is misapplying my payments and charging me late fees as a result. Attached Images are included
Brief timeline
- 9/17 - Autopay was triggered to my checking account, which was closed as I was moving from one bank to another.
- 9/17 - I went into the app and swapped autopay to my credit card thinking the next time Xfinity would do it it would use this (which i need to change again after learning today the autopay discount is not for credit cards but I digress)
- 9/19 - Payment was reversed to said checking account. (From my knowledge, no actual money was moved since there's transaction history within my Ally account (previous bank), just what I can see through Xfinity transaction history.
- 9/29 - I got in touch with support because I was notified that my payment was late and I was trying to figure out what happened and request a courtesy credit to waive the late fee and credit back the auto pay (once again, I did not realize autopay was not for credit cards but i was not made aware of this by support)
- 9/29 - Received a $15 credit to offset some of the 23 dollar late fee.
- 9/29 - $51.05 payment sent from my Amex to Xfinity.
- 10/1 - Payment reversal of $51.05 to the closed checking account again?
- 10/17 - Autopay triggered for $110.10 to my surprise
- 10/17 - Spoke with support again to figure out what happened and when I asked since I was charged for two months in October, I won't be charged in November the agent said yes, you are correct (attached)
- 10/26 - Spoke again with support after seeing my bill for November was $99. Essentially, I was sent around in circles after being disconnected multiple times. I was billed on the 29th, but it was returned to my checking account ( I didn't know this until then)
That part doesn't make any sense to me. How does my credit card get charged, and then money is somehow returned to a closed checking account?
I've tried my hardest to be patient with Xfinity and the support team for over a month now, and I'm just frustrated and looking for solutions.
I'm tired of being overcharged again and again when I feel that I've done no wrong.

If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. Click "Sign In" (If necessary). Click the "Direct Messaging" Icon. Click the "Start New Conversation" (pencil and paper) icon. In the “To:” line, type "Xfinity Support". As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window. Press Enter to send it. How to: Direct Message Within The Forum.
