Overcharged for Over a Year

August 2025 I went to the Champaign IL Xfinity store and signed up for a $85.00 monthly internet service (5 year plan). For the past year+ I have been charged $95.00 per month (paperless billing - direct deposit). After multiple Xfinity phone calls (approx 8 calls) all calls failed to resolve my overcharge.

I started going to the Champaign IL Xfinity store in attempt to resolve this problem.

I have made 5 trips to the Champaign IL Xfinity store that is 42 miles (1 way) from my home. I have dealt with multiple representatives from that store as there is no method to communicate with specific Xfinity personnel that may be familiar with my issue.

Guess what? My September 2026 directly deposited Xfinity Bill is once again $95.00 instead of $85.00.

This is a breech of contract, pathetic customer service and/or just big business ripping people off.

Probably no reason to mention that I have been a Comcast/Xfinity customer for nearly 40 years.

Thanks for nothing Xfinity!

@user_hs8iq8 I am sorry you feel you are being overcharged. When you say direct deposit are you speaking of a payment from the bank (set up within your bank) or an electric funds transfer from Xfinity using your bank account?

A recent text from Xfinity:

Your automatic payment of $95.32 to Xfinity has processed - thank you.

Payment supposed to be $85 savings for direct deposit.

To confirm, you do have the automatic payments set up through Xfinity using the bank account number and routing number? The $10 monthly discount would not apply if it is an autopay set through your bank to Xfinity via bill pay, or if you use Apple Pay or a credit or debit card, even if they are linked to the same bank account.

Through Xfinity, the contract is for $85 not $95. Perhaps you could tell me the problem and how it is setup.

That is where I wanted to confirm how the autopay is set up, since the base rate for the promotion would likely be $95, but including that discount to maximize savings would bring it to $85. I'd recommend verifying, if you haven't already, how autopay is set up in the Xfinity app or on the website.

I understand that the dozen previous Xfinity representatives have covered that. Last fix, that failed was turn it off and then back on. Didn’t Work.
