Not a customer but have a collection notice

I am trying to move into a apartment complex but they say I have a collection on xfinity, I call xfinity and nope they say my account that I had for 1 day is canceled and I owe nothing. Ok well why is it showing I have a collection? They literally told me someone else is at that address and owes the exact amount of money that’s in collection for me!! 
They said there’s nothing they can do since it’s showing 0 amount owed for me. 
What do you mean there’s nothing they could do?? I even spoke with a supervisor and she told me that. I have no clue what to do.

Hello, @user_8d4a92! Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums! I apologize to hear of the issue you are having with this collection issue. One thing you may want to do is find out who they are pulling the credit from (TransUnion or Equifax) and call them to dispute the collection that way. We would also like to double-check our system again to make sure there's nothing else going on with the collection. Can you please click the Direct Message icon at the top right of the page, click on the pen and pad icon and enter Xfinity Support in the "To" section of the chat and provide us with your first/last name and full address so we may further assist you?
