Never received a final bill and now sent to "collections"

I closed my account in the middle of June because of a move and my understanding from the conversation is that I owed nothing. I have not received any communications via email or text about a past-due amount or anything warning me of a final bill, until August 11 via the update text messages, which was the first time I knew about anything being past due. I was travelling during the past two weeks and I have just now been texted it's been sent to collections. Can someone help verify my final bill and get to the bottom of this?

Hello @user_pps2ix, thank you for taking the time to leave a post. Sorry to hear about the experience you've had since closing your account. I can certainly understand how frustrating and concerning it would be to believe your account didn't have a balance and then receive an unexpected bill. We'd be happy to take a closer look at the account and review the final billing details with you. For your privacy and the security of your account, if you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, we'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

How to send us a direct message:

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
  3. Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support."
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.
