My Monthly Internet Service Bill increased Nearly 60% in one month!

Why has my monthly service tier increased from $50 per month to $89 per month?  I received no direct communication that this was happening, I just happened to notice my autopay increased dramatically this month.  Is the service going to be magically 60% more available or 60% faster download speeds?  This is really outrageous!  Please help me understand how this is justified?
