Modem return

Hello, I recently disconnected my xfinity service. I planned to return my modem tomorrow but received a text saying to return the equipment as soon as possible to avoid late fees. how long after disconnecting do i have to return my equipment?

We begin sending courtesy messages shortly after the account has been closed, but you have 90 days to return the equipment before your account is charged a non returned equipment fee.
