late fees

For years Comcast/Xfinity billed me in advance and then charging me a late fee before the service period is even over. For example, Comcast billed me  for service from, December 4 2025, Comcast billed me for service from December 10, 2025, to January 9, 2026 and demands payment be made approximately 22 days from the billing date of December 4, 2025, with a due date of December 25, 2025.  In other words Comcast/Xfinity expects customers to pay their bill within 22 days of it being generated.  On January 4, 2026, Comcast/Xfinity assessed a $10 late fee before the service period I was billed for on December 4, 2025, ended.  I am being assessed a $10 late fee before the service period I was billed for on March 4, 2023 (which covered service from December 10, 2025, to January 9, 2026).  Comcast/Xfinity did the same thing for the January bill.  On January 4, 2026, Comcast/Xfinity billed me for service from January 10, 2026, through February 9, 2026.  On February 4, 2026,before the billing period ended (service period from January 10, 2026, to February 09, 2026) I was assessed another $10 late fee.  In February of 2026, I made changes to my plan however I was still assessed a late fee even though there were changes to my service and plan the late fee was never credit back to me.  Comcast/Xfinity continues to charge me late fees before the service period I am being billed for ends each and every month.  Comcast/Xfinity practice of billing me late fees every month before the service period ends has been going on since 2019 or approximately seven years.  I am attaching copies of billing statements for your review to show that Comcast/Xfinity is assessing me late fee before the service period I was billed for ends and does this every month.

Now Comcast/Xfinity is raising the late fee from $10 to $13.  Comcast/Xfinity should have to answer the following questions under penalty of perjury:

Why am I being assessed a late fee before the billing period ends

How it is legal for Comcast/Xfinity to bill in advance and then charge a late fee

              before the service period ends

How does Comcast/Xfinity calculate the late fee and set it at $13

What are Comcast/Xfinity’s damages if any

If Comcast/Xfinity claims it suffers damages because a customer pays late then it

should have to explain why it allows customers to pay the past due balance by the

following month and even later if they pay the balance in full.

Comcast/Xfinity should also have to admit under penalty of perjury the following:

The late fee is not required by law, government regulation, and contract

The late fee is not to encourage on time payments

That the late fee is a junk fee and additional revenue for Comcast/Xfinity

Comcast/Xfinity does not suffer any damages as a result of a customer paying late

If Comcast/Xfinity is claiming that it suffers damages, Comcast/Xfinity should have

to provided a detailed explanation and cost break down for any damages it claims to

suffer and supporting documentation and proof and certify that information ture and correct under penalties of perjury and singed by the

              person providing the information.

@csigrissom, thanks for taking the time to post on our Xfinity Community Forums page. I'd love to do everything I can to help. Anytime you carry a balance over from a previous statement there is a late fee assessed. I hope that explanation helps. We also have a late fee credit offer you can reference as well. Are there any other questions or concerns I can address today?

You can answer the questions posed in my post and provide the requested documentation that would be helpful.  There has to be a way to hold Xfinity accountable and get a straight and truthful answer not some automated response or useless or different answer depending on who you talk to.

@csigrissom, I have edited the previous reply on your other post. Here are a couple of articles regarding late fees:

Learn more about the taxes, fees, and other charges on your bill

What to do if you've received a late payment notification

I hope this is helpful.

Will Xfinity credit any of the late fees back to my account?
