I've paid my Comcast bills electronically for a long time, but suddenly I cannot do so without Plaid authentication.
I've paid my Comcast bills electronically for a long time by authorizing bank account access, but suddenly cannot do so without Plaid authentication.
- Plaid requires my bank user name and login password for authentication.
- My bank's Terms of Service specify that I will lose their fraud protection if I provide this information to any 3rd party.
- I read Plaid's Terms of Service and discovered that providing the requested login credentials grants them access to my SSN and to bank information that I don't approve of.
- Additionally, I learned that Plaid was recently required to pay $58 Million in damages for harvesting and selling sensitive user data.
This is totally unacceptable. You'll be receiving paper checks until you revert to your former electronic payment protocol, or find a less intrusive solution.

Hello Greymouse thank you so much for taking the time to reach us here via our Xfinity Forums with these questions regarding updated payment preferences. When attempting to make these adjustments, are you doing so via an online browser, or the Xfinity App? Updating via the Xfinity app should not prompt this action to go through Plaid. If doing so via a web browser on PC, we suggest clearing your cache/cookies or uninstalling any Plaid extensions that may be prompting this.

Thank you for following up in this post Greymouse. This my issue as well. Looks like back to paper billing and checks until this is straightened out.
