Is Target a scam?

My promotion had run out 3 days ago. They told me my bill would double. I could leave it alone, pay up front for 10 months, or pay 3 years up frony with an increased discount. The callback message sounded like Comcast. I went ahead and paid the 10 months in advance. The deal was you had to buy 2 Target gift cards at $200 each. Is this promotion for real, or is it a scam?

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_392w8m. Any call that includes a Target gift card is not legitimate. You would want to contact our customer security team at the https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ site to report that contact.

I had that same call today.  I didn't pay.  I told him this sounds like a scam.  He was just so rude I was like this cannot be real.  They didn't call from a 1800number but a 225 area code.  They knew my bill and that it was due today.  They said my promo was ending and my bill will double next month.  While that didn't sound so outlandish, based on past experiences with this bill.  The outlandish was paying up a whole year in advance.
