Insane Service Charge For Outdoor Repair
My Wifi has been poor for at least 6 months. I would call xfinity we would troubleshoot it and restart the box and it still would end up doing the same thing the next day. We had to change billing in the house and swap out the boxes due to individuals moving out. A few days after installing the new box (which i thought might fix the problem), the wifi was acting worse than it ever had in the past. I pay for 800 mbps and i was getting 50 mbps. Truly broken. I had a tech out who had to replace connections outside the house due to water damage. Very friendly guy and was very helpful - said there would not be a charge due to the connections having poor links due to water damage. Everything inside was fine once he did that.
Then I'm charged $100 for a "professional installation". I have never been charged for outside repair to any service since that is considered the company's equipment. Very unhappy. Looking for a different provider. Customer service on the phone first said it was a 'set up charge' due to when I got the new box. My router was already set up correctly and I had been trying to restart it and check it multiple times with xfinity online help but i needed the tech to find the water damage to xfinity's parts. The customer service agent said that since the part that was fixed was technically connected to the house that it was my problem. It's xfinity's equipment, not mine. I am so confused why the technician said not to worry about it and there would be no fee on my end because there was a problem with external equipment. On the phone, I was offered a $30 credit for "misinformation" and I think that is absolute [Edited: "Language"]. I am looking at other similar posts on here and finding that many other people are facing similar struggles of xfinity just trying to get every dollar they can from us! I am very unhappy with the solutions that have been provided and would like my money back. It is absolutely unbelievable that xfinity would charge me for water damage from storms to THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT! The customer service experience has been god awful so far.

@bkarduck Thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Community Forums with this concern. I understand you previously had continues service issues. When there is a new equipment and a technician is scheduled to be out to the property within 30 days of the equipment being added there will be a service charge of $100. However, I will be glad to look into your account specifically through direct message (received) and provide additional help as needed. We can circle back here once resolved to provide steps for other customers who may have a similar issue in the future.
