Increase in rate despite being on contract. Please DM. Thanks!

Hi,

I am on a 2-year contract for my Xfinity Internet Service. At the time of signup, I was under the impression that the quoted total monthly price would not change for those two years. However, there is an increase in the rate on the current bill, though I am still within the 2 years of the contract. On looking at the itemization, it appears that the credit for paperless billing has reduced from $5 to $2.

Please let me know what needs to be done so I continue paying the total promotional rate for the rest of the contract period. Thanks!

@vbonline Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I know it can be frustrating to see any increase in your billing, as a mom of 3 I keep a close eye on my budget and regularly review my bills. I know that every penny counts! Your contract discount hasn't changed, that rate will remain the same until the end of the promotional agreement. Other taxes and fees are subject to change, and we recently changed the automatic payment discount for using a credit/debit card from $5.00 to $2.00. You can sign up for automatic payments with a checking account, using your banking and routing number for a $10.00 discount, which will replace the $2.00 automatic payment you are currently receiving. You can click this link for directions on how to update your payment method.

Thanks Billie. It is just frustrating that different ways are being found to increase the amount paid each month.

Same happened to me. I was told for 12 months the cost was $45 for internet and $5 for credit card auto payment and $.90 tax. I was not told that the auto pay for credit card could change. If you want to change your rate, it should not apply until after the 12 month contract is done. I asked Matt, who signed me up that it would be $50 a month plus tax for 12 months and wouldn't change. He said yes $45 for internet and $5 for credit card auto pay plus tax. This is a breach of contract when you change a price that was agreed upon. I called and spoke with a representative who kept saying the credit card auto pay wasn't part of the agreement (which should have been made clear when I signed up) and when I said I wanted to speak with a manager, I was put on hold and after 5-6 minutes disconnected. No on tried to call me back.

I will not renew with you. I do not accept lies and people who do not keep their word. You do not deserve my loyalty.

user_7bj98g We would never want you to feel as if you were purposely mislead in any way. The autopay discount is an added perk and not one that is included as part of your contract. We understnad your concerns and assure you are here to help in any way that we can.
