Help and discounts for the elderly when they are displaced?

My grandmother broke her hip and has been displaced from her home for 5 months. Xfinity would not offer any discounts or credits to her TV services unless we disconnected her phone. Very disappointed in the assistance offered for the elderly, when they are already paying an exorbitant amount.
