Got scammed by online associate for $100, then promised for a refund but didn't get it.

account number: (edit personal information)

In ~April 2025, I wanted to switch to a less expensive internet plan. The online associated "offered" me a plan which cost less while maintaining at a high speed. He never mentioned that this plan was actually a contract and was subject to $100 cancellation fee. I accepted the offer.

Then in June I disconnected my service and expect a refund. But in early July I didn't any refund, but instead another bill of $128.44. I went to an Xfinity store and learned that this was due to the early cancellation of the contract. I was extremely angry about this. But this was definitely a scam. The online associate who offered me this plan, never told me that this would be a contract and there would be a $100 cancellation fee. Also when I disconnected the service, the online associated never mentioned about this $100 fee. What's worse, was when I was in the store, the associate said the cancellation fee would be refunded to me(around July 23rd), but this refund never arrived!

Deception after deception! I am so disappointed at Xfinity!

Please refund this $100 to me now!

Thanks for reaching out to us,  we do apologize for any inconvenience. Anytime we make changes to your plan or you sign up for a specific agreement we have to send you a digital consent agreement via text or e-mail for you to approve those changes. Once you approve those changes you'll get an e-mail notification to confirm your order which lists all the details out about your plan and your contract agreement. I highly recommend you go back to the date you ordered the service in April and check all your emails, you should see an e-mail notification that your plan came with $110 early termination fee

Also it doesn't sound like you were not owed a refund since you're stating your bill is $128.44 and the early termination fee was $100, sounds like you still owed for the remaining days you had service, this link https://www.xfinity.com/support /articles/viewing-your-bill-online-ecobill has great information on how you can review your last 12 months of detailed billing statements to see when your billing cycle ends and begins.

Unfortunately if you agree to the contract agreement and didn't keep it for 12 months those early termination fees of $100 would be valid.

Let me know if the information I provided is helpful

It was legal on paper, but still rationally a scam. Nobody will read the long contract details. Your employee intentionally didn't disclose the fact that the plan was a contract, apparently, he really wanted a better performance review lol.
