Subject: Goodwill Request for Removal of
Late Payment
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to respectfully request a goodwill adjustment regarding a late payment that was reported on my account.
I have been a loyal Comcast customer and have always made every effort to maintain my account in good standing. The late payment in question was an unintentional oversight, as I had a genuine belief that the balance had been paid in full at the time. I have since reviewed my records and now have documentation supporting that I reasonably believed the payment had been successfully completed.
As soon as I became aware of the issue, I took immediate steps to resolve the balance. Maintaining a positive credit history is extremely important to me, and I take full responsibility for ensuring my obligations are met. However, this situation does not reflect my usual payment behavior or commitment to financial responsibility.
In light of my history as a responsible customer and the circumstances surrounding this matter, I kindly ask that you consider removing the late payment from my credit report as a gesture of goodwill. Such an adjustment would greatly assist me in maintaining an accurate reflection of my creditworthiness.
I truly appreciate your time and consideration of this request. Thank you for your continued service and support. Please feel free to contact me if any additional information or documentation is needed.
Sincerely,
I shave spoke with a Xfinity customer care representative this morning for nearly 2 hours and after sending in the proof emailed to me by Ms. [Edited: "Personal Information"] at Comcast, she told me she would put a request in for a Goodwill letter.
I am following up because I am currently purchasing a home as we speak, and cannot afford bad remarks or late payments on my history. If it is deemed necessary for me to pay the 129 dollar balance even though I recieved the clear email stating I was paid in full, I will. I am just wanting to have the late remarks removed from my credit report.
Thank you, Matt [Edited: "Personal Information"]
