Get billed after cancellation of service

I'm moving out of my apartment and I called Xfinity to stop my service on 3/31. I actually called a second time to make sure of it. Also my apartment has its equipment installed and I should not be renting/returning any equipment, and I have rental equipment wrongly under my account. I was also told that the equipment would be removed.

However, today I received a bill for a full month's service fee, and its date is 4/10 to 5/9, which is completely after my cancellation date. Also the equipment is still under my account. I have been paying additional $15 for a year and I was not complaining, but I just don't understand how Xfinity can still charge me for services after my cancellation.

Hi there! Glad you reached out, the bill you received most likely generated before the cancellation was effective which is why we usually advise that your final statement is not received until at least a couple of weeks from your cancellation. Please send me a private message with your full name and address so that I may take a closer look.

To send the requested information:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/peer-to-peer-chat

  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support"

there. As you are typing a drop-down list appears.

  • Select "Xfinity Support" from that list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

  • Press Enter to send it

@XfinitySheila Thanks, I have sent the message. But I still don't understand, even this is generated before cancellation, since I have already paid the fee before my end date, and this bill is for after my end date, I should technically be held no responsibility for this bill.

@XfinitySheila Also how long would it take for me to get a response in the DM typically? Thanks
