Fraudulent Account, Debt Being Passed Onto Credence Resource Management
My name is Ashley Bowen, Starting in the beginning of July I started getting these harassive phone calls from Xfinity Customer Service about a debt I supposedly had to pay. I had no knowledge of this debt, which is to the tune of $127.87. It was supposedly for a business WiFi modem that I allegedly had to bring back to Xfinity, but I never had in the first place. This particular debt has gone into collections with Credence Resource Management, LLC. The debt is to an account that I never opened, with an attached email that I not only didn't initially recognize, but never owned, to a physical address that I haven't lived in since March 2026. The only Xfinity service I have is the NOW by Xfinity prepaid subscription; Xfinity and Comcast Business don't recognize my email address at all when I go to sign in with them even though my email address is registered in the system. I own a NOW Internet router that I paid for in full and was told that I didn't have to bring back. There's even a phone that I bought at an Xfinity store that I even paid in full because my previous one broke. I only have one legitimate account to my name. However, Xfinity has now resorted to stealing money ($56.27, to be precise) out of my account, currently, to pay this debt that I am disputing. I have, in multiple occasions, tried contact Xfinity about this problem and so far all they gave me was the email address and the account number behind the fraudulent charge. Nothing else ever came from the situation other than "Sorry, we can't help you," and expect me to pay the debt regardless. Now, here I am in a predicament with trying to expunge this, getting the runaround with Xfinity Assistant, and nobody from Xfinity's side is willing to help me resolve it. I will provide the account information if I am able to be direct messaged back.
