FORMAL DEMAND- Trade-In Credit $830- Notice Before Small Claims
(Xfinity Mobile)
To Whom It May Concern,
This letter serves as a formal demand for resolution regarding my $830 promotional device trade-in under my Xfinity Mobile account.
On November 3, 2025 , I participated in a trade-in promotion offering an $830 credit. The device was initially returned due to an Apple ID issue. Following your instructions, I fully removed the Apple ID, reset the device, and resent it under the new ticket number provided by your team.
Tracking confirms the device was successfully delivered and received by your facility. At this time, Comcast Cable Communications, LLC remains in possession of my device.
Despite full compliance with your instructions, I have been informed that the $830 promotional credit will not be applied. Retaining my device without issuing the agreed credit is unacceptable.
Time line of events:
November 2025: Purchased iPhone 17 Pro Max and initiated trade-in for iPhone 14 Pro Max.
December 17, 2025: Contacted Xfinity Support to resolve an "Activation Lock" rejection. Following official instructions from an Xfinity representative, I obtained a new shipping label and mailed the device in "factory condition."
December 27, 2025: The device was successfully delivered to the Xfinity/Assurant warehouse. Carrier: USPS Tracking Number: [Edited: "Personal Information"]
January 2026: Xfinity Support confirmed receipt of the device via telephone and assured me the credit would appear in February.
February 2026: Xfinity changed their position, claiming the device was never received. Despite 30+ calls and four (4) internal support tickets, Xfinity refuses to apply the credit or return my property. Deceptive Sales Practice: During a support call in February, an agent falsely stated the trade-in issue was resolved to induce me into a new purchase (Apple Watch). I completed that purchase based on this fraudulent assurance.
I'm sure you can request all the calls and hear exactly what i was told every single call so you can understand my position right now.
Accordingly, I demand that within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of this letter, Comcast Cable Communications, LLC:
1. Apply the full $830 promotional trade-in credit to my account; OR
2. Return my device to me in the condition received.
If this matter is not resolved within ten (10) days, I will proceed with filing a claim in California Small Claims Court against Comcast Cable Communications, LLC for the full amount owed, court costs, and any additional relief permitted by law.
I prefer to resolve this matter amicably and without court intervention. Please contact me promptly at [phone number] or [email address].
Sincerely,
[Edited: "Personal Information"]
