Forced to pay ex bill

I woke up and my services were disconnected. I called in and they told me i had a previous balance from an old apartment. Ok fine... I will pay that but then proceed to tell me I need to pay my exs bill as well or my service will not be turned on. I spent the last 24 hours trying to get help getting my service back on to no avail and being hung up on. I will be taking this to civil court if necessary.

Good evening @Rice357, and thank you for reaching out to our dedicated Communities team, we appreciate your time and are sorry to hear that your services were disconnected. I understand your frustrations and where you are coming from. I had to pay debts for an ex before as well and I know how upsetting and stressful that can be. Rest assured, our team is here to help how we can. To confirm, was the account you had with our ex under your name or their name?
