False cancellation request

Hi there,

I received an email saying that my internet service is being cancelled today per my request. Unfortunately, I never requested cancellation and would much prefer to keep having internet :) Inspecting email headers and links seems to rule out phishing, and Xfinity's web site offers mixed signals about whether my service is being cancelled (likely just the effects of long-term eventual consistency). Given that the addresses in Comcast's database for my apartment complex are a little goofy, I suspect someone with the same apartment # in a different building called to cancel and my account got caught in the crossfire. I found this thread: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/customer-service/cancellation-request-email-when-i-didnt-cancel/64e725d82afef0112cc9205f, but the link in the thread to open a DM appears to be broken, and I can't find a "Direct Message" icon on forums.xfinity.com. Happy to forward name and address; please advise where to send it. Thanks!

@juh2600

Please send us a direct message including your name, account holder name (if different), and the service address so, we can get started. Myself or one of my awesome colleagues will respond as soon as possible.

To send a direct message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "Direct Message" icon in the upper right - it looks like a chat bubble
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon just to the right of Conversations
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line - do not use the Employee's name!
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

To expedite your request, we ask that you please include your name, the account holder name (if different), and the service address
