False advertising and breach of contract

This time last year I signed up for $50/mo internet guaranteed for 5 years. To get that rate, you agree to auto billing and electronic invoicing.  Now, one year in, the bill jumped to 80/mo.  Looking back at the e-bill (now), it does state 12 month promotion, but I never bothered to look at the bill because the debit from account was what I expected.

So the false and deceptive practice is advertising a rate for a period of years, putting a shorter period on the rate on the e-bill (thinking, correctly in my case, that the customer will not look at the e-bill to notice the discrepancy right off the bat).

The catch for Xfinity is going to be I will file a complaint with the FCC and Secretary of State and have them pull the phone recording of the transaction. When they see the deception there will be consequences.

Anyone else having this issue?

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

I completely understand why a situation like this could be a bit frustrating. I would be more than happy to look into your account and see what went wrong with your 5-year plan.

To begin, would you mind sending me your name and the address to your account in a Direct message?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it.

no I’m done with talking. I just spent more than 90 minutes with Xfinity representatives whose song and dance to me around the issue. It is clear to me. This is false and deceptive practices. I’m going to pursue a class action lawsuit
