Failure to practice collection due process
Since I am unable to reach a “manager” and a “supervisor” is the highest representative to talk to… I am left no choice than to writing here.
I just spoke to one of your “supervisors” who had TERRIBLE phone etiquette (while chewing her gum) and stated that she had no knowledge of how I could report her and she was the highest I could reach and I had a legitimate bill.
SO… let’s recap.
I have been with comcast/Xfinity since 2014. I use to have a business account. But I branched off in 2023 and got my own personal account. Lost my seniority and superb customer service apparently. Now I am with the rude representatives and people who do NOT care about your customer’s satisfaction.
Anyway.
I bought my first home in August. I called to advise Xfinity and they sent two service techs out. Xfinity does not service my new homes area. I called in upset because even my phones had bad service. I did not want to change my internet provider.
I was advised- per Xfinity- that they could not take care of my new home. They agreed to not charge me any fees for cancellation because it was not my fault, and not my choice- to cancel my internet.
With additional $25 fee - I kept my phones, and had to go to a more expensive internet provider and pay triple for stand alone service now with another company since my phones- were still with Xfinity.
Xfinity rep told me- “do not worry, no cancellation fees will be your responsibility, I have put in a ticket, your account is settled”
Months go by.
Every month I notice the cancellation charges on my account “$150.08” and call in asking why it is still there. Every month I am advised I am correct- I should not be charged. It was not my fault or choice to lose my service due to a move.
The reps assure me the account will never hit my credit or go to collections.
Well. That’s 8 representatives telling me the same thing. “Don’t worry” “it’s taken care of””it will be adjusted”
Last month I was reassured it would be removed.
So fast forward to today.
My credit has its first collection reported. Comcast. $150
My credit drops 35points.
I called in to speak to a supervisor. She refused to listen to calls. She was rude. Refused me her supervisor. She told me it was a legitimate bill.
Countless calls recorded. Countless times your reps told me not to worry.
But now.
I was treated with NO respect. I was demeaned like I do not pay my bills on time.
I was refused any solution to rectify the situation.
Explain to me… why I should not report this company for their collections procedures?
I am now trying to contact a corporate number- wasting more hours of my life …. Over $150.
This is borderline fraud.

Thanks for reaching out to us, I do apologize for any misinformation that was provided.
If you're on any type of term agreement contract and if you cancelled the service or moved to an area where Xfinity doesn't service and we're not able to transfer your account you are responsible for the early termination fees which is indicated on your consent agreement.
So if you were told the early termination fees would be waved the only way that could have been done is if we were able to provide service to your new location.
But when it comes to the early termination fees it does specifically say if you move to a location where we're not able able to service then the early termination fees will apply

Shame on this company. I’ve been with Xfinity over 10yr if you include my past business account.
I have never been so disappointed in a company in my life.
If your reps would have told me I owed the charge, instead of stating for me to disregard the bills- I would have paid and been done with it.
Now there is a negative mark on my credit that you refuse to remove? There is record of how many times I called in and how many inquiries were made. I will contact the FCC, BBB and alike to report how representatives giving “misinformation” is being excused for illegal collections.
