Extra charge to bill

Hello,

I looked over my statement and I notice that I was getting charged an extra $10 to my monthly plan for something called Internet: SPEED INCREASE. I did not ask for this and I looked over my past months when this started showing up in my account and I have never gone over the data limit. Can someone please explain to me how this got added to my account, how can I remove it, and if I can get reimbursed the money it took from me without my consent? Any help would be much appreciated.

@Doug2101 Thank you for contacting us here at the Xfinity Community Forums regarding this concern over specific items on your billing statement. I can certainly understand how the wording of this may be confusing or cause you to wonder how or when this was added to the account.

Firstly, the line item 'Speed Increase' would have nothing to do with overage of data, as connection speed and data usage are not the same. Normally 'Speed Increase' would denote you are receiving a particular internet speed tier higher than the base speed price listed elsewhere on the statement. To give an example, if your plan has Superfast (800 Mbps) internet speeds, you might see a line item for Fast internet speed (400 mbps) and then 'speed increase - Superfast' to denote the speed you are actually receiving.

Please let me know if this is similar to how this charge is appearing on your bill or, if this still does not seem correct, we can review your account directly to confirm the full billing statement and plan pricing.

If you would like to do so, please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address.
