Early termination fee refund/credit for returning customer

I have moved to a comcast unserviceable area 2 years ago (September 2021) and paid 80$ ETF (agent said that they will credit it back when I come back to xfinity).

Now I'm coming back to xfinity and spoken to sales team couple of times and been told that if I terminated my services 2 years ago, there is no way to credit the ETF back.

Just wanted to hear whether this is still true.

Right now between T-mobile and xfinity internet in my near-future apartment, xfinity is little bit expensive for me (because I have T-mobile as my cellphone provider) and this ETF refund/credit is my deciding factor.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

I have been here doing this for 17 years and I have never heard of the ETF being refunded if you come back.  If you're in a contract and you cancel your service you pay an ETF as you know.  But, if you come back you enter into a new contract apart from the other service you had and you will have a new account number that is tied to you and your new address.

I hope that explains it a bit.
