Downgrading Internet Plan Mid-Cycle : How does it affect Automatic Payments ?
What happens with the bill now that I’ve downgraded my internet plan mid billing cycle ?
I’m signed up for paperless and automatic payments so that should be $10 off my bill if this bit of information is relevant.
EDIT : I can see that my bill is set to be $55 later but I’m enrolled in paperless AND automatic, so shouldn’t it be $50 ?
I was set for an Automatic Withdrawal of $79 in a few weeks but have downgraded to a plan that is $50 per month. The app still reflects $79 to be withdrawn… so will be be prorated for the next cycle of mid-August to mid-September ? Should I be expecting a bill of only $29 for that next cycle since I’m overpaying now ?
Please lmk if my understanding of this is correct. Thank you so much !

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to the Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello @ElmikNach, and thank you for reaching out with you billing concerns. You are correct about a bill cycle being prorated when you change plans in the middle of a bill cycle, and the My Account app will update on the next cycle to provide you with the proration details. Autopay usually takes for the amount on the account on the day of payment on our side which can worry some customers as it may be lower than what the app is showing owed. Regardless of it taking less than showing or taking the full amount due to the payment being taken before prorates, you will get all updated information on the next cycle I promise. If you do make a full payment before prorates, you will see a credit on the next bill cycle for the amount over paid as well. Does this clear up all confusion, or did you still have any concern? I'm happy to answer any and all questions to make sure there is no surprises when the next bill comes.
