Don't bother trying

I called xfinity to cancel services in february at my ex's address, because he was not paying the bills. Instead, he went and got services activated in his name, while my account continued to be charged, i explained this issue to several people and told them I wanted the account canceled, and they reassured me that it was only ten dollars, I told them, I don't care if you guys are paying me ten dollars, I want the account canceled. I was told more than once that the account was canceled but received a notification two months later, saying that my account was past due and had been suspended. It did not matter how many times I asked to speak to a manager, I never transferred to a manager or even contacted by a manager, even though again I was assured several times that I would be. Now I am trying to pay this supposed past due amount that I was also told did not exist by the store, when I went to activate services at my address, but I keep getting emails saying that I owe money. I click on the email, it takes me to my currently active account under my address, where there is no past due balance. I call in to talk to customer care and they are not able to find the account or if they do are not able to access the account without the account number but cannot provide me the account number or any information as to where I can pay the bill at. So every response I'm seeing on this thread is to call the same number that they will tell you that they can't help you or text the same people that will tell you that they can't help you. So don't even bother, I will just have to dispute that with the credit bureaus. This is why I hate xfinity, and if there was any other option for service in my household I definitely would change.
