Dispute of $100 Technician Fee – Account ***[Edited]
I'm writing to dispute a $100 technician visit fee charged to my account [Removed: Address and account info]
During setup of my internet service, I was unable to connect using the provided router and existing cabling, so a technician visit was scheduled. Before the visit, I was told by staff at the Xfinity retail store that I would not be charged for the visit as long as the technician didn't need to modify anything inside my house. When the technician arrived, he repeated this same assurance.
The technician determined that the issue was with the outside distribution box, which required running a new cable. He did not perform any work or modifications inside my home. Despite this — and despite being told twice, by both Xfinity store staff and the technician himself, that the visit would be free under these circumstances — I was charged $100.
Since the work was limited to Xfinity-owned infrastructure outside my home and I was explicitly told this would not result in a charge, I'm requesting that this $100 fee be reversed.
I appreciate your help resolving this and look forward to your response.

Hello @user_or644o Thanks for reaching out to us. Normally the tech visit charge would apply for any install or setup regardless. But ultimately the charge is determined by how the tech codes the order on their end when they complete it. We'd be happy to look into this though given you were told it would be waived. Please send us a direct message with your full name and service address to get started.
