user_ry2f0b An Xfinity customer may still have an outstanding balance after canceling service because the final bill can include charges that did not appear on earlier statements. Two common reasons are unreturned equipment and an early termination fee.

• Unreturned equipment: Xfinity-owned devices—such as modems, gateways, TV boxes, remotes, or other rented equipment—must be returned after service is disconnected or equipment is replaced. If Xfinity has not received or processed the return, an unreturned-equipment charge may be added to the final bill. The customer should keep any store or shipping receipt and allow time for the return to post to the account.

• Early termination fee: If the customer agreed to a service contract and canceled before the contract term ended, an early termination fee may apply. The amount depends on the terms of the agreement and the remaining contract period.

Do you recall receiving a final billing statement that outlined any additional charges after canceling your account?
