Credit on disconnected account.

Hi, I disconnected my account in sept 2020. I was billed $270 in October . Then I was told I would be mailed a refund check. I gave them my updated address. But still no check? How come they can take money out of my account months after service has been disconnected but can’t return the funds in the same manner?

I have called and they keep saying a check will be mailed but my account still shows the credit. Where is the check!?
