Comcast DELAY in applying payments

Why does it take Comcast/Xfinity so very long to receive and apply mailed payments? If I pay anyy other bill - regardless of how far away the mailing address is, it takes about 5-7 working days at the LONGEST for a company to receive my payment . NOT SO with Comcast - it will take anywhere from 10 days to 21 days for them to acknowledge and apply a payment!

My problem too. I received my December bill on Dec. 15 & mailed my payment on the same day. According to Comcast, they applied my payment on Dec. 31 instead of the due date of Dec 30.

My January bill was received on Jan. 16 & mailed my payment on the same day as well. They have not applied my payment as of today, and this bill was due on Jan 30. I am never late in paying bills.

What is going on here with Comcast ? I tried calling them but could not get an agent on the phone.

While I cannot be certain there is a backup at Comcast posting checks, I do know that the US Postal Service [usps.com] is backed up on mail delivery.

I received my January statement after it was due.  I have received no late mail/bills from any other entity.

I mailed a check for payment of my March bill on February 27.  Today is April 4.  Comcast has still not processed my payment.  It went past due a few weeks ago.  I had to pay online and I stopped at a Comcast location to have the late fee removed.  My next bill is due in 5 days.  I cannot believe that the check I mailed 5 weeks ago has not been received and processed.

I have had absolutely no issues mailing any other payments to any other entities, including a mortgage payment that is delivered to TN from PA which, most recently, was processed within seven calendar days from the date I mailed it.

Are we supposed to believe that these so called USPS delays are only present when the destination address is a PO BOX in Philadelphia?

I also have this problem.  I will mail a comcast payment 10 to 15 days prior to a due date, but it isn't applied until  after that due date.

Very poor practice, but since they have the market cornered I suppose they can manipulate the "free" populace however they choose

Just a suggestion: Always check with your banking statement online to see if a check has cleared.  Unless you are paying online you won't see if the payment has been applied until your account has been refreshed or when your billing statement is posted online under My Account.  For myself, I have enrolled in online banking so I can see what may go on in my accounts any time I want.  I also use financial software to keep up-to-date when my finances.  It's a small price to pay every year to make sure my bills are paid and nothing falls through the cracks.  FWIW, I do not autopay on anything but two accounts, and I STILL check the billing statements and my online banking statement to make sure those two accounts are paid on time.
