Collection

There was an Xfinity account opened in my name and has since gone to collections and the debt keeps rising and harming my livelihood. I’m filing a complaint with the FCC. This cannot be legal. I’m also going to the BBB

Hello @user_5svz7b, thank you for taking the time to leave a post. Sorry you’re dealing with something this serious and stressful. I can only imagine how upsetting it must be to discover an account opened in your name, especially when it’s gone to collections and is impacting your livelihood. Please know that this is taken very seriously. When an account may have been opened fraudulently, there are dedicated processes in place to investigate identity theft and work toward resolving the balance and its impact.  We have a dedicated team that can assist with fraudulent accounts. I have attached an article on Comcast Resources for Fraud and Identity Theft Resolution that provides steps on reporting this information. I have also attached the Comcast identity theft packet, which can be found in the article here. I have also attached the article that is Instructions for Completing the ID Theft Affidavit.  We understand how much this affects your peace of mind, credit, and day-to-day life, and that impact is not taken lightly.
