Charged for Services I No Longer Have [Edited]
I cancelled my Xfinity cable services because my bill was continuously increasing. In February my bill got up to $294 ($90 increase in 2025 from $5-10 increments each month with no additional added services).
My February bill was due on the 12th and covered services until the 19th. I cancelled those services on the 18th and returned the equipment back to the store. I kept internet due to not being able to find a provider in a timely matter but that reduced my bill down to $111 a month. Well a month later I was charged $304 (highest bill I’ve ever been charged) for services I no longer have.
I called Xfinity customer service twice leading up the bill cycle to make sure that I would not be charged the astronomical amount (giving my comfort with keeping my bill on autopay). Well today when I was charged the $304 I immediately called customer service and am now being told that the $304 will serve as a credit to my account for the next two months. So basically Xfinity lied to me and stole money from me for services I no longer have. This is unacceptable behavior from a company and they will not refund me my money back that they should have never charged me. They do not listen or care about their customers. Especially considering I cancelled their services because I could no longer afford the high payment. Their solution was to charge an even higher amount that paid 3months of service in advance.
