Changed plan but still got billed for previous plan...

Why can't Comcast get the billing changed when you change your plan before the previous promotion ends?   Why are experts saying I should pay the full payment and the next bill should be prorated.   This seems illegal, as they are making you pay more than what you actually subscribed to.   Why can't I just pay what I know the bill should be and what was confirmed via customer service plus shows in my recent activity?

Your bill was probably generated about the time you made the change - check the date on the billing statement.

By paying that bill you won't incur any late charges and any payment over what you owe will be credited on your next bill.  Believe me, it's easier to do it this way than it is to try to get that late charge removed after the fact.
