Can’t pay bill - unknown server error

I attempted to pay my upcoming bill two weeks ago and made it through to the submit screen only to receive an “unknown server error”.  Figured I’d wait a bit and/or download an app update.  Neither of these solved the issue.  Just logged in again and getting the same error at the same step.  Attempted multiple payment methods, that made no difference.

Hello, @user_69502e Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a direct message:

  1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click the direct message icon
  2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)
  4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!

So, for those of us having the same issue, what is the fix?  I had to chat with someone earlier who gave me a new link to use.  Not sure if I have to use this "new link" now to pay any future  online bills.

I'm able to pay ALL my bills quite easily EXCEPT FOR XFINITY.  Not only is this issue not fixed for me, but trying to reach customer service is a nightmare.

Hello @user_n95fge, and thanks for reaching out to us about your payment issue you are having. I would be happy to assist with getting this fixed. Is the error happening when using the Xfinity app, or the website?

Hello, I'm having the same issue here - I keep trying to pay my bill online because there's no more option to pay by phone, and each time I get the same message that "unknown error occurred" - how can I pay my bill? Any guidance is most appreciated, thank you.

I am having the same issue.  Unknown Server Error.  I've been paying my bill on line for years.  What's going on? If I can't pay on-line how do I know if I mail in a payment it'll get posted?  No matter which card I use I get the same error. Unknown Internal Server Error.

Hey there, @kimberlyf! Thanks for leaving a comment with your shared concerns. We'd love to see what we can do to help :) May I ask how you're accessing your account online? Are you visiting the My Account website, or using the Xfinity App?

@XfinitySara  FYI I tried both and over the phone.  BUT I just was able to make my payment using a NON Chase Bank Account.  I tried multiple times using my Chase Debit Card and my Chase Credit Card.  Same Issue.  But when I used my Credit Union Account Card it worked fine.  Maybe something to do with Chase?  IDK.

I would definitely give them a call. They may have a restriction on the card that is causing the problem with making the payment.
