Cancelled my service but still got a bill

I canceled my service on Sep 3rd. I got a confirmation email saying the last day of service was Sep 3rd. A few days ago, I still got a bill for the cycle from Sep 4th to Oct 3rd. What is going on? Can somebody help me with this?

Hello user_nz2ytb, and thank you for reaching out. We're truly sorry to see you go, and we appreciate the time you've spent with us. Based on your note about receiving the disconnection confirmation email, it sounds like your final bill may have been generated just before your account was officially disconnected. Please rest assured that your billing is prorated to the exact day of disconnection, so you’re only charged for the services used. Your final Xfinity bill will look a bit different—it’s issued as a disconnection notice rather than the standard format you may be used to. It will include a breakdown of prorated charges, any applicable credits, and potential early termination fees (ETFs), if relevant. This final statement is typically available within 7–10 days after your account is fully disconnected. It may take up to 10 days for the disconnection process to be fully completed. In the meantime, you can view and pay your bill online through your Xfinity account or the Xfinity app. If you don’t receive your final bill within that timeframe, we recommend checking back or reaching out for support. We're here to help make this transition as smooth as possible. Please be reminded that sending unsolicited Direct Messages to an Official Employee of the Xfinity Community Forum is a violation of Forum Guidelines. In the future, we ask that you please find the most appropriate public board for your question type and post it there. If needed, we may invite you to send us a Direct Message. This is just a heads-up for next time, and I look forward to helping out here.

@XfinityThomasA Sorry, didn't know I needed to be invited to send a direct message.

Does that mean I do not need to pay the bill I received for Sep 4th to Oct 3rd? Because it was definitely after I cancelled the service. I just need to wait for the final statement.
