Canceled internet via live chat agent but was billed and service is still active

i went on live chat a few weeks ago to have my service terminated at the end of the month / billing cycle as i did not want it to renew; i was told that everything was taken care of but the service is still active and i was billed for another month. i would like for the service to be turned off and the bill to be adjusted. please view most recent live chat exchange for clarification.

Hey there, @user_do17zg! Thanks for coming to our Xfinity Community Forum with your service and billing concerns. I can definitely understand your concern, and I'm sure our Digital Care Team can help! We're great to work with because we'll always provide you with all the information you need :) Depending on your account's billing cycle and the exact date you reached out, it is totally possible for another billing statement to generate before the service fully disconnects (even though a billing stop date for an earlier day was entered). This is because we not only bill in advance, but it takes about 10 days for disconnection orders to complete. Not to worry! Once the account closes completely, proration (partial charges and/or credits) automatically adjust the final balance to only reflect the last days service was used. We can double-check for you, though, of course! Please send our team a direct message to continue.

To send a direct message:

  • Ensure you are first signed in, then you will see a chat box icon at the top right of your page. Click that or follow this link here: https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  • From there, click the 'New Message' icon. In the 'To' field, type 'Xfinity Support'.
  • Type your message in the text area that appears at the bottom of the window and hit enter to send. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond.

To expedite your request, we ask that you please include your name and the service address alongside a detailed summary of your request/question. Thank you!
