Cancel Internet Service

Three weeks ago, I called to request cancellation of my internet service. A customer service representative informed me that canceling the service would require paying an early termination fee. Following their advice, I signed a new contract, intending to wait for it to take effect before requesting cancellation. However, this Monday, I was automatically charged the monthly fee for the old contract, not the exact fee mentioned by that previous representative. I'm unfamiliar with your contract activation process, and I really don't have the time to waste on repeated calls to cancel my internet service. I want my internet service canceled immediately.
