Broadcast Fee increasing from $37.55 to $48.15?

Has anyone received any emails stating how the "Broadcast Fee" will be increasing to $48.15/month?

I received multiple emails last month in reference to the "Xfinity StreamSaver Pricing Update" jumping from $15 to $17 but nada, zip, zilch for this next increase!

Is this a prank? I can't even find any announcement(s) via a google search.

DUDE!!!

There was no announcements that I know of. I got my latest statement today, with the upcoming price increases, and I was shocked at how big the broadcast tv fee went up. They have added multiple channels here locally, but I think the increase is a bit excessive.

I just called Xfinity Customer service to ask what my new bill amount will be and obviously, I was SHOCKED, but the Xfinity Rep found some massive discounts for me, that basically keep me at my current price for the next year!! I am so stinking HAPPY!!!!!!!

Just give them a jingle!!!! 1-800-Xfinity!!!!!!!!!

@user_eb9cbe It's a [Edited: "Profanity"] charge.

Xfinity/Comcast should eat that cost on behalf of their customers.

Comcast is using this as a sleazy way to up your monthly cost despite promising fixed costs when you agree to a contact.  Comcast's costs aren't going by anywhere near what they increase your bill by.  There are class action law suits alleging fraud against Comcast over this.   I hope they take greedy Comcast down.   I have been a customer for almost 3 decades.   That will end when my "fixed cost" contract is over

Don't give up and when your fixed priced ends, definitely give them a call then or now for that matter, and ask them what other discounts do you qualify for!! I just passed out after hearing my new bill amount but then Xfinity Rep offered to see other discount(s) are available and he took care of me!!!!! I am so stinking excited!! You just gotta ask & let them know, you need help!

@DiamondDea I did that and he offered me my same package for $10 a month more than I am paying.

The Broadcast TV fee is an itemized charge on Limited Basic and legacy Xfinity TV tiers and based on the costs of providing the local broadcast stations that Xfinity carries on cable systems in each area. These costs include fees that broadcast stations charge Xfinity to carry them on cable systems, fees that are among the fastest growing components of the company's programming costs.

@XfinityMartyR Give me a link to where your costs are going up by 25% in one year, like you are raising mine.   Taxes don't go up by 25%.  I feel like you are fleecing us to build revenue off your customer base.  Your competition isn't raising the cost by anywhere close to the same dramatic cost increase.  https://www.techdirt.com/2024/03/22/fcc-outlaws-sleazy-and-misleading-cable-tv-fees/

What a joke!  How can my broadcast fee go from $31.95 to $43.90?  And I believe that just my local channels?  My entire bill is a joke!  They claim television network owners charge them more?  Well thats certainly no justifying why they raised there prices on their tv boxes!  Why did they go up another $2 for a box?  The box is $14….can you imagine?  Use to be like $5.  I have the same old box I had for years!  Definitely got to go a different route!  I’m done with them!  My bill went up $23 for next month!

user_n20zxk I hear how frustrating it is to see a $23 jump in your bill, especially when it feels like you're paying more for the same equipment. I truly appreciate you reaching out to voice these concerns. The Broadcast TV Fee does reflect the rising costs from local networks like ABC and NBC, and while equipment rates are periodically adjusted to support our network, I understand that seeing those numbers climb is a huge shock. I’d love to help get your costs back under control. Many of our newest "all-in" plans now include the equipment and DVR service in the package price, which might be a better value for you. Please send me a direct message with your full name and address, so I can review your account.

The price is out control. I never thought I would get to the point that I can’t afford cable after I retired.
