Billing

I just opened an account for internet and it's not set to be activated until January 14, however,  I just got a bill for the entire month of January even though my internet isn't even online.  Is this correct? Is the bill not pro-rated for the month of January?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question in our communities forum. We bill 1 month in advance. So you should receive 2 bills. One bill would be for the proration of when your billing cycle starts to end of that billing cycle, and the other bill for one month in advance. Hope that helps.

@XfinityDaryl hey! I only received the one bill for the time period of 01\06- 02/06 for the full amount. It also has a charge for a self protection service which I do not have. Is this correct?

Your first bill will be the 1 month in advance. The second bill, which is the prorated bill based on your billing cycle, won't <edit - spelling> come until after the service is connected. The billing cycle date isn't established until once the order is completed, since you can change your start date until the service is officially started.

The Self Protection Plan is the 24/7 video recording self-monitored home security service for our internet customers only. If you did not add this, I can remove it. To do so, I would need you to please send me a Direct message with your full name and address. You can send me a direct message by clicking on the "chat" icon in the upper right, next click the pen/pad icon, and lastly Xfinity Support. That's all you need to do. Please make sure you are signed into the forums though before you do. Thank you.
